Holiday Giveaway!

RockerJewlz has a sweet holiday giveaway going on PLUS a special gift for you.

The gift is that from today, December 7 through 15, all jewelry orders shipped to U.S. addresses will not only have the usual insurance & delivery confirmation coverage but will receive a complimentary upgrade to priority rate! This means that instead of waiting up to 5 delivery days plus the 3 days for Paypal to clear the bank, you should receive your packages within a week and most likely less…nice surprise, huh? And I will happily ship it directly to your gift recipient if you prefer.

And to top that off, for every item purchased in my Etsy shop through December 31st at http://RockerJewlz.etsy.com, you will receive an entry into my holiday giveaway. The prize is your choice of any pair of earrings OR pendant available in the shop (not limited to cupcakes this time as in the past)…and TWO of you will be winners, woohoo! Now that is something to celebrate on Sunday, January 3rd, when the winners will be randomly drawn.

For more chances to win, here is how you can easily get extra entries. Just follow these TWO guidelines:

1. You MUST email me with the url where you announce the RockerJewlz Holiday Giveaway and be sure to include info on how your readers they can find my blog announcement at http://RockerJewlz.blogspot.com. Any public website is fine with me (i.e. your blog, website, Twitter and Facebook) but I have to be able to GO there to see it so be sure to include it.

(To reach my email address, go to the left side of this blog, find “A little about me”, and at the bottom of it, “view my complete profile”.)

2. The email MUST include the url, AND your name AND street address (otherwise, how will I mail your prize if you win?).

3. Go shopping with me on Etsy to see what you will choose as your prize! Could this giveaway be any easier?)

In addition, I now have plenty of cupcakes on 18 or 20 inch sterling silver chains.

Have fun shopping and I’ll talk to you after the New Year with the winner announcements,

Spring Special: Under Protection of the Butterfly

2 items today: The Spring Special is the pendant you see below, and I also just released this one of a kind polymer clay bead bracelet named the Stardust Hummingbird which you'll see by visiting me HERE.

Yay, my next Spring Special is finally here...ya know, beFORE spring is over! Interesting experience with this pendant. I was attempting a necklace with some clay hummingbird beads over several days. The colors worked beautifully but I absolutely could NOT get the layout correct. Finally I just started playing with these charms and I love how they worked together, so it's the "Under protection of the Butterfly" pendant that is now available.
When hanging, the 3 featured charms hang straight with the center enameled butterfly just slightly off center to give it character (see below). I love it's gently puffed baby blue & sea foam green sections. Note the crystal at its center. The enameled bird house is fabulously detailed and although there is no bird here, I feel like the 2 butterflies are protecting the house so the birds that inhabit it will feel safe. And yes, there are 3 tiny red hearts there.

Believe it or not the top butterfly is a plastic button. I love the detail grooved into it. The actual size of this button is one inch high, so the actual size of this pendant is only about 1/3 smaller than the photo below. You can slide it onto just about any cord, chain or ribbon you have and it's specially priced at only $15 plus $2 shipping....first serious buyer to email me HERE gets it! UPDATE: pendant is now available in my SHOP.

I'm working on a summer special now so be thinking "sand & buckets" when you come back!

Hey, Pumpkin!

New pendants are up on www.RockerJewlz.etsy.com. I had a lot of fun with these. They are enameled one inch rounds that I've suspended from a handcrafted lampwork bead captured between shiny silver caps. I have them in robin's egg blue, primary red and chocolate brown and only one full alphabet in each color, so move fast if you need one or a few. Including shipping, they are under $20 which makes them perfect as stocking stuffers and gift exchanges.

There is a gentle rain outside and for the first time this season, I turned the heater on just to take the chill off.

Once our Marinara Meatloaf is in the oven, I can turn off the heater. It's a really yummy recipe my sis turned me onto. Just a nice change, ya know?

So my husband is apparently far more clever than I knew! He entered his company's pumpkin carving contest and won first place! He didn't carve the pumpkin but he painstakingly created stencils of bats and "happy halloween". He placed them on the back and then spray painted the pumpkin blue. When he removed the stencils, he had a finished product in the company's 2 theme colors...very clever.

Since he is part of the facilities department, he wanted a face and hard hat so his boss scoured the site throughout the day and came up with parts that created the facial features...that nose is an emergency ceiling sprinkler! So clever and funny. My husband isn't much of a coffee drinker so he turned over the winning Starbucks gift card to me. Happy Halloween to me.

I'm having a great time coming up with inexpensive but pretty jewelry for the holidays so keep visiting my Etsy shop and stay cozy!

Comin' up Cupcakes

I've not seen this fabulous purple striped cupcake PILLOW before! I discovered it at Target.com but it was out of stock and the bed linens are on clearance so who knows if it will ever come back.

But I found it again at Wal-mart.com for less than $13 and it measures 9x9x11 inches and is velour. Purple is one of the two colors for RockerJewlz and Cherry on Top earrings are my biggest sellers so this pillow really pulls that all together.

Now, I design elegant cupcake jewelry and love just about anything cupcake but try to never get too corny about it...but this pillow just called my name and I had to get it. It's not like it will go with my bedroom decor or anything but a friend mentioned it could make an excellent jewelry or confetti prop.

And check this out: you can order it online and if you live in the right area, it will be shipped to your local store FREE where you can pick it up.
We'll all find out together how I end up using it.

On a separate cupcake issue, I had a heck of a time finding appropriate sterling bails from which to hang pendants and charms I've begun adding to my jewelry line. There are a lot of heavily detailed ones but they really distract from the cupcake bead.

I finally scored some real beauties so be on the lookout for those at www.RockerJewlz.com & www.RockerJewlz.Etsy.com.

The pendant above is the Cherry on Top pendant atop my hand punched cupcake confetti & stickers, available at www.MomsArt.Etsy.com.

Okay, I'm starting to sound like a commercial. I'll move on by saying I've got an inside scoop of some really fun non-edible cupcake goodies (the only hint you get for now) that will hopefully be available in the September/October time frame if all goes well.

So, check back for updates on that and meanwhile, eat yourself a cupcake.

Life is a Sundae

Could life be any sweeter than this handmade glass ice cream sundae? Lezlie Belanger created this lush goody and I added some silver to create a pendant. I listed it, watched a movie, returned to the shop and it had sold! So I guess you could say that ice cream sundaes sell like hotcakes.

The detail is phenomenal and it is difficult for my mind to wrap around the truth that this is, in fact, NOT a real ice cream treat! I love the snazzy spacer at the bottom. It reminds me of the doily that is usually placed on the plate before a sundae is presented in an ice cream shoppe.

I better order more of these so that no one feels left out of wearing one for summer fun.

On the flip side, I finally made a necklace out of ZudaGay's awesome polymer clay piece seen here. The detail is so deep and rich. The texture reminds me of carved wood. I hand wound .999 fine silver around the suede leather cord and found a cool Bali clasp that also has that wound silver feature.

If still available, you can see it on my Etsy site along with other planned pendants & necklaces.
