Deluxe Garden Cupcake

How amazing is this glass??? This is the bottom view of my latest cupcake pendant.....

Pretty isn't it? I just love the unique design of this cupcake and that it is garden themed...WOW.

Just look at the amazing flower work and the lovely indentations on the icing....which is not just chocolate, but a deep mahogany color with just a touch of red in just the right light. Keeps it from being a flat brown. Beautiful, just beautiful.

The cupcake is listed HERE. Tomorrow is Easter. If we visit my husband's family there is a big dinner celebration. But we'll be home this year and we just enjoy the belief that we celebrate Christ's rising from the dead and all that it represents.

Our son is 22 so no egg hunts here!

All My Heart Deluxe Cupcake

How amazing is this heart cupcake?! Mahogany colored cake portion matches the pearlized garnet colored glass hearts on the top & in the danglies. My favorite pink glass, "dark pink by Lauscha" was used for the hearts on the cake & for the icing. Add the sterling heart bail and chain and it makes you say "wowza"!

This deluxe cupcake line was dreamed up my me on paper and wound into hot glass by Payton Jett and is nearly double the size of a "normal" lampwork glass cupcake. It's fabulous, just fabulous. See more detail & photos HERE.

I finished my "Bead Soup Party" jewelry and will be posting it on the big reveal day of Wednesday, February 10th. Come on back now, ya hear?

Deluxe Fantasies

Today's blog title has a double meaning. The first is for this spectacular cupcake bead which I turned into a pendant. It's nearly triple the size of most common cupcake beads and the cherry mahogany colors just take my breath away along with the attention to detail from the independent glass artisan.
It feels so good to hold this substantial piece.

Read more about the details HERE.

The second reason for this blog title is that my dad and his lovely new wife leave tomorrow for a honeymoon in England. They've exchanged their California home for 3 weeks and they hope to take a quick jaunt to Paris for a few days as well. Their return trip will be 6 nights aboard the QE2 (Queen Elizabeth II) cruise liner,
ending their journey with 3 nights in New York City.

When I saw this Madonnari chalk drawing of a ship, I just had to take a photo! You can see more fantastic chalk drawings in my previous post, "Travel Items". My dad was stationed on a ship in the navy during the Korean war, but has never "cruised" on a luxury ship.

And now to ALMOST finish up my little downtown tour with Dad when I was last there. Remember my post about the candy shoppe?. Well, Dad turned me onto this odd item above, Sen-Sen. He was so surprised they carried it. He commented this was the only "portable" breath freshener when he was growing up. I was fascinated by that, so I saved the official packet opening for my son. He came to me a few minutes later with a sour looking face, holding out a handful of incredibly tiny black squares. You could probably fit 25 of them on a dime! Our conversation went like this:

Me: "uh oh!".

Son: "tastes like frankincense & myrrh".

Me (not really wanting to taste THAT, but too curious NOT to!) "oh yuck, it tastes like I licked incense!........and..........dish soap!"

We both spit it out and discussed how what was left in our mouth was a hint of freshening possibility but not enough to ever put that in our mouths again!

Okay, DAD, maybe you totally scammed us, knowing about this horrid product and wanting to laugh after hearing we'd experienced its devilish qualities....right? Dad? DAD!!!! Oh crud, he's getting ready to LEAVE THE COUNTRY for a month....good move, DAD...perfect timing, DAD.

Man, are you ever gonna get it when YOU get back! Dirty rat.

A Cupcake Revolution

Here is the press release for the most awesome, revolutionary glass cupcake beads that I've just begun designing with Payton Jett from the Green
Glass Café...

RockerJewlz & the Green Glass Cafe have combined artistic forces to create the most incredible line of lampwork glass cupcakes to date! Julie Vallejo and Payton Jett have shared their passion for glass art over the

past 2 years
and it has evolved into an artistic chemistry that has resulted in a magical bond.
Due to their love of all things cupcake, Julie, a jewelry designer, began to request custom glass (lampwork) cupcakes of Payton, wondering if her imagination could become reality.

Payton, a glass artisan, accepted any and all challenges presented to her, teaching Julie about the intriguing properties of glass along the way. Payton knew how glass tended to move and morph beneath her torch’s intense flame but even with that knowledge, she was still always in awe as to what the glass would reveal to her when lifted from its cooled oven.

This mysterious quality convinced Payton she must never assume what results would form and thus reveled in the thrill of playing with glass requests from artists like Julie, who would take her inspiration and draw it on paper and tweak the design with Payton until they agreed on the finest detail of color, shape, size, harmony and contrast.

With these limitless edges of imagination, these two artists have in a sense created a marriage of passion and
dedication to discovering the next best thing in glass and therefore, custom jewelry design. It is a rare gift for these two artisans to have found such partnership and a gift to share.

RockerJewlz and the Green Glass Café are now thrilled and excited to announce the revolutionary Deluxe Fantasy Dream Cupcake Jewelry! These cupcakes are bigger than ever measuring up to 26mm versus the more commonly known average sizes. Truly one of a kind (OOAK), these glass cupcakes are loaded with patterns and color combinations never seen before in the glass art world!

Plaids of raspberry, dark pink and red…black and white hearts set against mahogany colored cake draped with dark pink layers of frosting with rings of color surrounding the sprinkles.

If you have any experience with glass cupcakes, you know these are not your every day cupcake bead descriptions…we just know your mouth must be watering by now.

Cupcakes Afire!

Oh man! You have never seen cupcakes like the Fantasy Valentine series Payton Jett and I created! I drew pictures of my cupcake visions and Payton said, "Bring it on, I'm goin' for it!" I can always count on her to blow the lid off boundaries.

We designed a whole new idea in creating deluxe glass cupcakes that will be noted in lampwork & cupcake history. 15 more will be made, but only RockerJewlz on Etsy will have the originals!

We've not seen ANY cupcakes that contain the awesome detail you see here and in the other 7 totally different cuppies on their way to my studio. Heart cuppies, dotted cuppies, even ringed sprinkles! Sheesh! These are most likely bigger than you are used to, some as tall as 26mm and no two are even similar in design. Even using repeat colors doesn't keep these from being incredibly unique, so leave a comment if you want to be notified when these are ready for viewing so you don't miss out.

Hints of alternate designs: Garden, double layered frosting and more! I'm also receiving handcrafted pink glass hearts and orange glass hearts and accompanying beads that will become elaborate

and sparkly jewelry with components like lots of sterling silver and colored crystals, like the danglies you see left. Adding even more fun, and on a different note, I snagged some sweet buttons in checkerboards, houses and little love letter envelopes for

more whimsical jewelry to branch out from my original design styles. As for my MomsArt paper shop I just completed my first art piece...4 whimsical rowhouses stamped and hand colored with pastel pencils, bordered with teeny stamped dots in a variety of colors...really sweet!

The rowhouse original will be listed tomorrow at MomsArt .Etsy.com and the new cupcake designed jewelry should be available in 2 weeks....but I have tons of other fabulous cupcake earrings, pendants and bracelets available now if you just can't wait!

So come back soon...and leave a comment with your email address if you want direct notification when these new Deluxe Fantasy Cupcakes are available as jewelry.
